The yacht should be wiped with a soft cloth every morning to remove the moisture left by the morning mist, and pay special attention to Windows, stainless steel parts, finished parts and soft cushions used in the open air.
Hull and waterline
The hull is usually cleaned once a week, or as needed, depending on the water quality of the yacht. Special Marine cleaning fluids can be used to clean the hull, but pay attention to the product instructions when using, as some cleaning fluids may affect the coating on the bottom of the ship to prevent Marine life from attaching.
Porthole glass
The porthole glass of the yacht can be used with specialized glass maintenance products such as RAIN-X, which has a cleaning and waterproof effect, and can penetrate the glass pores to form a surface protective film, providing a clear line of sight, which can stop the water droplets leaving traces on the glass, so that the window is kept clean every day.
cushion
Open cushions should be kept as dry as possible. When not in use, it can be wrapped in a padded cover or placed upright in a storage compartment. After a rain or after cleaning the yacht, the cushion will generally get wet, this time to wipe the moisture off the cushion as much as possible to keep it dry. If the cushion becomes dirty or stained, it can be cleaned with a special cleaner.
canvas
You can use a warm cleaning solution to clean, in wrinkled areas, such as where there are holes, some salt will gather, you can apply petroleum jelly after cleaning, and apply once every 120 days.
Transparent plastic window
Plastic Windows can be cleaned with water and dried with a soft cloth. When rolling up the window, be careful not to cause scratches, do not let the window remain rolled up for a long time, which may cause discoloration, it is best to roll up during the day and put down at night. Zipper areas are also prone to salt accumulation, can be cleaned every 120 days with a warm cleaning solution.
Hatch cover on deck
Each hatch cover on the deck has a trough under it to collect and discharge the water that flows into the gap in the hatch cover. After each wash, hatch covers on all decks should be opened, grooves cleaned, and dried. In the case of long-term non-use, it is best to open the hatch cover once a month and wipe the seal strip on the hatch cover with warm cleaning liquid.
External latch
The latches on deck storage cabinets should be kept clean, tidy and dry to prevent mildew. After each wash, the external storage cabinets should be opened and cooled to dry. Keep the items in the storage cupboard dry and neatly arranged. It is best to empty the storage cupboard every 120 days and clean it thoroughly. All exterior locks, latches, and hinges should be kept clean, dry, and preferably replaced annually. Latches and hinges should be lubricated every six months.
Yacht exterior cleaning
Whether the yacht is cruising or moored at the dock, it will be contaminated with stolen goods, dust, bird droppings, and the crystalline layer of salt left after the evaporation of the sea water on the yacht, these substances have a certain destructive effect on the surface of the yacht gelcoat, so after each use of the yacht, it is necessary to clean with fresh water, if not used for a long time, at least once a week.
When cleaning the yacht, choose the appropriate cleaning liquid according to the actual situation of the yacht. Use your hands to wipe the surface of the yacht, if it is not dirty, simply rinse and dry with fresh water. When choosing a cleaning solution, you should choose a neutral cleaning product specifically designed for yachts. Inappropriate cleaning solutions may reduce the life of gelcoat or paint.
When cleaning a yacht, it should be washed from high to low, from the bow to the stern. Because most yachts are designed to drain this way.
After the cleaning is completed, it is very important not to let the cleaning liquid or water remaining in the hull after cleaning dry in the sun. Residual cleaning fluid can dirty the hull quickly, and residual water often leaves patches of water that are difficult to remove. Therefore, after each cleaning of the hull, the hull should be flushed with fresh water and quickly dried.
Exterior hardware
The stainless steel parts outside the yacht, although it is designed for use at sea, but because the sea environment is worse than the land, these stainless steel parts still need a better wax layer protection. Stainless steel should be waxed every 60 days or as needed. High-quality wax film can resist the erosion of seawater, increase gloss, and make future maintenance easier.
External electronics
When washing the boat, all external electronic devices/buttons and consoles should not be washed with water, otherwise it will damage the internal electronic components. Can be wiped with a damp cloth. Every week, all electronic devices are turned on and run for at least half an hour to remove moisture from the line.
