Hull and waterline

The hull is generally cleaned once a week, or when needed, depending on the water quality of the yacht. You can use special marine cleaning fluid to clean the hull, but pay attention to the product description when using it, because some cleaning fluid may affect the coating on the bottom of the ship to prevent the adhesion of sea creatures.

Porthole glass

The porthole glass of the yacht can use special glass maintenance products such as RAIN-X, which has cleaning and waterproof effects, can penetrate into the glass pores, form a surface protective film, provide a clear line of sight, it can block water droplets from leaving traces on the glass To keep the glass windows clean every day.

Cushion

Open cushions should be kept as dry as possible. When not in use, you can wrap it with a cushion cover or place it vertically in the storage compartment. After the rain or after cleaning the yacht, the cushion is usually wet. At this time, the moisture on the cushion should be wiped off as much as possible to keep it dry. If the cushion is dirty or stained, you can use a special cleaning agent to clean it.

canvas

It can be cleaned with a warm cleaning solution. In places with wrinkles, such as buttonholes, some salt will accumulate. You can apply petroleum jelly after cleaning, and apply it every 120 days.

Transparent plastic window

Plastic windows can be cleaned with clean water and dried with a soft cloth. When rolling up the window, be careful not to cause scratches, and do not keep the window in a rolled state for a long time. This may cause discoloration. Where there is a zipper, it is also easy to accumulate salt. You can wash it with warm cleaning liquid every 120 days. 

Hatch covers on deck

There is a groove under the hatch cover on the deck to collect and discharge the water flowing into the gap of the hatch cover. After each boat wash, the hatch covers on all decks should be opened, the grooves should be cleaned, and wiped dry. In case of long-term non-use, it is best to open the hatch cover once a month, and wipe the sealing strip on the hatch cover with warm cleaning liquid.

External latch

The lock of the storage cabinet on the deck should be kept clean, tidy and dry to prevent mold. After each boat wash, the external storage cabinet should be opened and allowed to dry. Keep the items in the storage cabinet dry and neatly arranged. It is best to empty the storage cabinet every 120 days and clean it thoroughly. All external door locks, latches and hinges should be kept clean, dry, and preferably replaced annually. Latches and hinges are best protected by lubricating oil every 6 months.  

Yacht exterior cleaning

Regardless of whether the yacht is cruising or moored at the pier, it will be contaminated with stolen goods, dust, bird droppings, and the crystalline layer of salt left after the sea water splashed on the yacht evaporates. These substances have a certain destructive effect on the yacht's surface coat Therefore, after using the yacht every time, it should be cleaned with fresh water. If it is not used for a long time, it should be cleaned at least once a week.

When cleaning the yacht, select the appropriate cleaning fluid according to the actual situation of the yacht. Wipe the surface of the yacht with your hands. If it is not dirty, just rinse it with fresh water and dry it. When choosing a cleaning fluid, you should choose a neutral cleaning product specifically designed for the yacht. Unsuitable cleaning fluid may reduce the life of the gel coat or spray paint.

When cleaning the yacht, it should be cleaned from high to low, from the bow to the stern. Because most yachts are designed with this kind of drainage line.

After the cleaning is completed, it is very important not to let the cleaning fluid or water remaining on the hull after cleaning to dry itself in the sun. The remaining cleaning fluid will quickly make the hull dirty, and the remaining water usually leaves a water spot that is difficult to remove. So after cleaning the hull every time, use fresh water to rinse the hull and quickly dry the hull.

External hardware

Although the stainless steel parts on the exterior of the yacht are designed for offshore use, these marine parts still require a better wax layer protection because the marine environment is more severe than on land. Stainless steel parts should be waxed every 60 days or when needed. A high-quality wax film can resist the erosion of seawater, increase gloss, and make future maintenance easier.

External electronic equipment

When washing the boat, all external electronic devices / buttons and consoles should not be washed with water, otherwise the internal electronic components will be damaged. Can be wiped with a damp cloth. Every week, all electronic equipment is turned on for at least half an hour to drive off moisture on the line.
