In recent years, fiberglass yacht manufacturing in China has been a mature process, basically yacht hull, deck, upper deck and flybridge and other large and small accessories are made of fiberglass materials, fiberglass production molding easy, convenient material procurement, low cost, short construction period, bearing strength enough to 95 feet below the yacht manufacturing.

At present, the general construction methods of fiberglass steel on yachts mainly include two construction methods: hand paste lamination and vacuum adsorption.

Hand paste lamination method is the basic construction method of FRP yachts, most of the best construction method for yachts below 60 feet, construction is not easy to fail, and the appearance of the product is not limited. As the name suggests, it is the use of manual resin and felt and cloth layer by layer of hand paste out, the required period is relatively long. Hull, deck, flybridge and yacht all FRP fittings can use this construction method.

Vacuum adsorption method is a relatively new process in recent years, generally used for the construction of fast ships above 60 feet. The construction method is to lay the glass fiber layer on the mold, lay the guide cloth and the guide tube and some auxiliary accessories as needed, cover and fix with plastic film, and then seal with vacuum bag and sealant, and then vacuum the sealed glass fiber layer, and then import resin molding, which is a very effective molding method. And save labor and time, the product weight is light, less bubbles, the amount of resin is also less, the strength increases and so on. However, more disposable auxiliary materials are required, and the comprehensive cost calculation is comparable to the hand paste lamination method. It is certain that the weight of the ship will be relatively light and the quality will be better. By contrast, the weight of the hull can be reduced by the same amount of power and the ship will go faster.

4. Vacuum bag mold seal After the composite felt is laid out, cover the vacuum bag mold and fix the bag mold with sealant, so as to ensure that there will be no air leakage when vacuuming, and test with a vacuum leak detector until it is completely sealed.

5. The vacuum pump starts to work  After the sealing test is completed, check the feed pipe/suction pipe and other vacuum system connection, open the vacuum pump to start the vacuum work, and observe the resin import status at any time... If any abnormality is found, deal with it immediately until the resin conductivity is complete.
 
 

General FRP yacht production of the use of resin; Phthalic polyester resin, m-benzene polyester resin, vinyl resin and epoxy resin. Vinyl resin is used in vacuum adsorption molding in China, and vinyl ester resin has a stretch of more than 5%, tensile strength of 11800 pounds/square inch, its water resistance is greater than phthalic polyester resin and m-benzene polyester resin, and structural strength, not easy to produce bubbles and many other benefits. The most sophisticated ships manufactured abroad occasionally use epoxy resin, of course, the cost is higher, and it is still rare in China.

At the same time, the vacuum adsorption method recyles the excess resin through the resin collector, which effectively saves the amount of resin.

The flow of the resin in the construction of vacuum adsorption method is closed under vacuum pressure, and all the air bubbles are sucked out with the flowing resin when vacuuming, and there is no problem of bubbles remaining.

Due to the construction of vacuum adsorption method, all resins are working in a closed condition, where the styrene monomer content is not released to the atmosphere is zero pollution, it is one of the most environmentally friendly construction methods for FRP manufacturing.

In fact, the vacuum adsorption molding method is not too difficult FRP manufacturing method, as long as each procedure is checked by step and then the next process is completed, the rigorous construction can complete the structural strength, lighter weight, short construction time and lower cost of FRP products.
